Rhythm Journal Is Here — Now on the App Store
Today is a big day for us: Rhythm Journal is live on the App Store. After a lot of careful building, our private, on-device journal and voice recorder for iPhone and iPad is ready for you to download and make your own.
Download Rhythm Journal today — free.
Download on theApp StoreWhy we built it
Most journaling and note-taking apps ask you to sign up, and quietly send your words to their servers. We wanted the opposite. Rhythm Journal has no account, no sign-up, and no servers of ours that receive your journal. Your entries live on your device — and, only if you choose, in your own iCloud. It's much easier to be honest on the page when you know no one else can read it.
What you can do with it
- Write your way — type, draw with Apple Pencil, add photos, or just speak and let it transcribe.
- Record lectures & meetings of any length and transcribe them on your device — tap any sentence to jump back to that moment in the audio.
- Understand yourself — track your mood and the color of your day, and watch gentle insights, streaks, and a Year in Pixels reveal patterns over time.
- Hold onto memories — dream and gratitude journals, sealed future-self letters, a Memory Vault, and a beautiful annual Life Book PDF.
- Stay organized — to-do and shopping lists, appointments, receipt scanning, and a document scanner, all alongside your journal.
- Optional AI, on your terms — summaries and reflections run on-device with Apple Intelligence, or through your own AI key. Off by default, always your choice.
Private by design
Privacy isn't a feature we bolted on — it's the foundation. No ads, no third-party tracking, nothing sold. Your journal stays on your device, and in your own iCloud only if you turn on sync. That's the whole promise.
This is just the beginning
Version 1.0 is out today, and we're already working on what's next — including even more accurate on-device transcription for lecture halls and meetings, and AI meeting summaries you can chat with. If you have ideas or run into anything, we read every message on our Support page.
Thank you for being here at the start. We hope Rhythm Journal becomes a calm, private place you'll want to come back to.
